When planning out the perfect company or event t-shirt, there are several ways to get noticed. The first thing to keep in mind is your brand voice. If you’re a serious brand, selling something like health products or tax prep, funny may not be your best bet. However, if you’re a donut shop or bar, putting something silly or borderline crude may fit your brand.
These clever and funny company t-shirts feature slogans that are simple enough, but might induce a chuckle.
On the back of the shirt above, the text reads, “donuts are stupid…on opposite day.”
With these shirts, you’re bound to get a second glance and maybe even a small smile. The words are still relevant to the brand, but they get attention by being a little daring.
Make the joke or image specific to the products or services you offer, like these shirts.
You can even build off of current memes or characters to share your message, like this company that used the “WHY U NO” guy to create a new meme. Vidyard even used the back of the shirt (and the character’s head) to make a QR code.
At Cabbage Key Inn (where Jimmy Buffett was allegedly inspired to write Cheeseburger in Paradise), the wait staff receive a lot of questions from tourists. To address these questions, and share a bit about the history of the island, they all wear these shirts to work that have the answers to the top 10 frequently asked questions.
There are a lot of ways to make people think, laugh and remember your brand. Be sure it fits your overall message and the crowd you’re trying to attract. You don’t want to be too crass at a family-friendly restaurant, or confuse people with a joke that’s out-of-date or irrelevant. Make it something easy to understand and worth remembering.
