Everybody loves swag.
Well, 83% of American consumers surveyed love it. People actually like picking up your free pens and sunglasses at trade shows. That’s not all; 48% said of those surveyed said they would actually like more promotional products.
What is about promotional products that people like? For starters, they come in a variety of forms and sizes: pens, magnets, napkins, cups, coasters, and bottle openers. If you’re hosting a sporting event, birthday party or concert, attendees love to use free promotional products to show their support and feel as though they’re part of the group. Foam fingers, stadium cups, beach balls and bandanas are great for these occasions. A souvenir like a cup or hat will last a long time and remind the consumer of the brand or event from which they got it.

People remember brands on their products.
Consumers remember brands they see on promotion items because they see them on a regular basis. Sunglasses, a tote bag, water bottles and even bookmarks are functional for the owner and they become accustomed to using the product and seeing the company’s logo.
Promotional products with logos are often more welcome than intrusive advertisements. The positive connection stays with consumers, too. Of those surveyed, 89% remembered the advertiser on a promotional product they received sometime in the last 2 years!
Does it convert?
Consumers like the product, and they may even remember who gave it to them, but does this lead to any sales?
Actually, it does! People who have promotional products are 3 times more likely to contact the advertiser. That includes going to the website, walking up to the booth at an event or making a purchase at a store. They’re not just using you for free reusable bags!
What can you customize to bring your brand to life? Find a product that real people will use on a daily basis. Then, put your logo and a positive message on it. They’ll think of you every time they glance at the fridge, grab their sunglasses or pick up a pen to write a grocery list. They might even give you a call!
